Vintage Linen & Cotton ‘Yellow’

We stock an ever changing collection of beautiful vintage linens and cottons in a wide variety of weights and textures. Sourced across England and northern Europe, we seek out exceptionally heavy cloth for upholstery use, and mid and fine weights for drapes, blinds and lampshades.

Each piece is carefully hand dyed to shades inspired by nature; from subtle and gentle grass greens, to the bright hot pinks of Geranium petals.

The exquisite texture and character of these hand woven sheets is incomparable to modern made textiles, as is the beauty of the tonal and irregular effect from the hand dyeing process. These fabrics can bring a warmth to an interior, and create a softer atmosphere, even when used in small quantities.

Up to 250 years old, some pieces are carefully patched and repaired, others are rarely – or even sometimes totally unused. Hand stitched central seams are often present, as are embroidered monograms, giving a wonderful glimpse to the past of a previous owners initials or family crest. All pieces may have marks, stains or irregularities; features to be embraced, part and parcel of the joy of buying and using such beautiful old and handmade fabric!
